What I offer

Picture
Walking
I offer a regular programme of walks from spring through to autumn.  These walks are planned to take advantage of prevailing weather conditions, and places are usually released 1 - 2weeks in advance.  Contact me if you would like to be added to the mailing list for these walks.

Alison also offers navigation training with an emphasis on teaching women.  These are usually half day sessions on local paths and hills,
  maximum of 4 people

Contact us to book, £100 per person for 3 sessions.

We can tailor make day and multiday walks to your requirements. For example, we recently helped a client achieve a long held ambition to climb Suilven.
Tailor made mountain days are £180 - £220 (max 4 people)

fitness

The walks vary in length and steepness, so if you are not confident in your fitness then start with one of the shorter walks.
Hillwalking is a non-competitive sport, and we take plenty of stops to admire the view, take photographs and look at the plants and wildlife, and on rough ground we take time and care to ensure everyone is managing.
My previous career as a physiotherapist means I can adapt walks to your own personal needs, abilities and health concerns.

group size

I work with a maximum group size of 4 on mountain walks, and 6 on low level walks. This allows me to give you the best walk experience

Weather

I check weather forecasts in advance of every walk (obsessively!) and use our knowledge of the planned route to ensure we can follow it safely. If not, I will either suggest a safer alternative or cancel the walk. Usually rain and poor visibility don't stop us, and in fact give us some really great adventure days, but wind can be a real 'show stopper' -it's hard to make progress if you are being blown off your feet!

What our clients say

"We thoroughly enjoyed our walk on Meall a' Bhuachaille today.  It enabled us to explore a new area with stunning scenery under the guidance of Alison.  It's definitely enthused us to do more hill walking which we're very much looking forwards to."  FM, April 2022

"Climbing Suilven had long been on my bucket list to do.  Achieving this dream was made possible with Alison's expert support and encouragement. We had an amazing day on the mountain and even managed a swim in a mountain loch on our descent. A truly wonderful, unforgettable experience, thanks so much to Alison." MM, June 2021
